Marionberry Pie: This is a must-try dessert in Oregon. Marionberries, a type of blackberry developed in the state, are known for their sweet and tart flavor. The pie is often served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Ingredients:
6 cups fresh marionberries
3/4 cup white sugar
6 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 package pastry for a 9-inch double crust pie
2 teaspoons water
2 teaspoons white sugar
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).
Combine marionberries, sugar, flour, and lemon juice in a large bowl.
Place one pie crust in the bottom of a 9-inch pie plate and add the marionberry filling.
Cover with the remaining crust, crimp edges to seal, and brush lightly with water. Sprinkle with sugar.
Cut slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.
Bake for 10 minutes, then reduce heat to 350°F (175°C) and bake for an additional 45-50 minutes until the crust is golden brown.
